Took more than a year to get the streetlights fixed. Maintenance responded pretty quickly to maintenance requests but my husband did have a couple of his power tools stolen when maintenance was there. The subcontractors for the AC, Amaresco, rarely showed up when they said they would. Lower rating due to the move out process. When we moved out, the form said we owed “X” amount of money to Hickam Communities. The “x” amount of money came out of my husbands check and went to Hickam communities on the next paycheck. We see on the app that we still owe money. When we talked to the front office, they said they made a mistake. When they prorated the rent, they typed the wrong number on the sign out paper they gave us. They said they would get back to us and they never did. We followed up and they said the payment is going to be waived and we don’t have to pay it because of their mistake. Then my husband gets an email saying that accounting did an audit and we still have the pay it or it’s going to collections. The back and forth is so unprofessional and we paid what they said we were supposed to upon checking out. It is not my fault someone at the Hickam Communities office fat fingered the final check out sheet. And now we have to find extra money while PSC-ing. We were told that someone from accounting was supposed to reach out to us. We checked out 11/12/25 out of our base house. As of 12/26/15, we have not received ANY mail/statement/bill from “accounting” regarding the bill we owe. They would rather send the bill to collections than notify us. Had we not checked the resident app, we wouldn’t have known. Extremely poor communication.
Nice place for a mid size gathering with enough tables and chairs for at least 70 people. Kitchen fully functional and very big and spacious
Good spot to have an event. Has a kitchen available. (Ohana room). Easy to reserve, best to do in person to review rules and sign.
"Historic" housing means thick layers of leaded pain holding together the shells of termite eaten wood. Air conditioning will fail eventually because proper maintenance demands disassembly of indoor units which is not something someone should be expected to do. Then you will wait 3 weeks in the worst of summer for them to come out. Don't try to move into a bigger place if you get married and have a kid. You qualify to stay in that dump while people with less live in twice more at AMR. They will harass you with what they think their own policies are while you have to defend yourself citing and sourcing their own rules and policies. The curb appeal is more important than your safety. They don't keep up regular pest control, you have to take that into your own hands. They replaced all the toilets with "eco-friendly" toilets that use way more water than the old ones and they are bigger, so for some of the floorplans the toilet fits but you have to have a foot in the tub. They only redeeming quality was not having to pay utilities, but that's going away very soon with Minol being introduced.
Great resource for the Hickham community. Clean environment, friendly helpful staff. I definitely plan to host an event in the near future.
